The LRC’s “Don’t Stop Me Now…” 16-WEEK MARATHON TRAINING PLAN & “We’re Having Such a Good Time!” 14-WEEK HALF MARATHON TRAINING PLAN are here! These are FREE, just like LRC. Regardless of the race you plan to run, we will have an informational kick off run on Saturday, June 15th at 7am from Cook Park in downtown Libertyville.
The training plan target races will be:
- CHICAGO MARATHON on 10/13/19
- MILWAUKEE LAKEFRONT MARATHON on 10/6/19 (move linked plan up a week)
- CHICAGO HALF MARATHON on 9/29/19
- FOX VALLEY HALF MARATHON on 9/22/19 (move linked plan up a week)
The LRC aligns our summer schedule to compliment these plans:
- Tuesday 6:30pm track & hill workouts (track was registration only and now full)
- Wednesday 6:30pm fun runs
- Saturday 7:00am long runs
Nothing is better at making you a stronger runner than running with other people! Gatorade, water, and snacks will be supplied at Saturday runs. We will be posting details about each of these runs to our Facebook group page so join HERE if you haven’t already.
These plans are culled from MY EXPERIENCE (seriously, that link is a blog about my 50-state marathon experience) utilizing many different training plans over the course of training for and completing almost 70 marathons on all terrains in conjunction with helping you enjoy the experience through 6+ years of creating and operating more attentive and community-driven run clubs. With all that experience, you know what I’ve learned? If it ain’t fun, YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG!
